RESTAURANT MANAGER

RESTAURANT MANAGER: Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a management position and proven skills in restaurant operations and be responsible for sales building and profitability of the restaurant. Requires extensive knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls such as manpower, productivity, food & beverage cost, entertainment, special events and other expenses. In addition to being entirely involved with F&B service, duties also include assisting with staff recruitment, management and training, scheduling, payroll, purchasing and inventory control. Must have solid people and communication skills, as well as strong computer and administrative skills. The ideal candidate must have solid, verifiable employment history with proven letters of reference. This position requires a dedicated, full time individual able to work 6 days per week, including shift work, weekends, evenings, special events and public holidays. KITCHEN ASSISTANT: Applicants must have 2 years' experience working in a busy kitchen environment. The successful applicant will carry out daily cleaning tasks of the kitchen and equipment by using cleaning chemicals and products to ensure maximum cleanliness in a busy restaurant. In addition may be required to clean restrooms, preparation areas, entrances and remove trash from all areas where needed as well as keep toilet paper and soap dispensers topped up. All applicants applying for this position must be honest and reliable and must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays in a very busy atmosphere. Good time keeping and capacity to work under pressure are essential. Only honest, trustworthy, good timekeepers need apply. The Wharf Restaurant & Bar has a Drug Free Workplace policy, pre-employment drug testing will be required. Two (2) recent references are required with your application and short listed candidates will be asked to supply a Police Certificate.
